Although we've already decided not to do this I wanted to cover this tool a little bit.

You can bake all of the necessary maps you might need with xNormal. It will read you high resolution mesh and interpret that for you for application on your low resolution mesh.

As well as that you have all of these tools that allow for xNormal to interpret existing maps you have to convert to other maps you need.
